20 February 2017 - T for Tasmania! Conference Social Event 2017 Theme

The Conference Social Event theme this year is T for Tasmania!

Join us on Friday 19 May at 7pm for our Conference Social Event at the Salamanca Arts Centre. Add something to your outfit that begins with ‘T’ or reminds you of Tasmania, or get right into the spirit and dress-up completely as something beginning with ‘T’.

16 January 2017 - Preliminary Program

A dynamic Conference program has been designed to explore the theme of Cultivating Fresh Evidence. This scientific program critiques the evidence and challenges all to reach new standards of excellence in nutrition and dietetics. DAA 2017 will explore three plenary themes: Nutrition EconomicsFuture Nutrition in Clinical Practice and Marketing and Nutrition Communication Debate. 

A Preliminary Program is now available for you to view and/or download prior to the Conference.

11 January 2017 – Call for Late Breaking Abstracts

The Dietitians Association of Australia 34th National Conference 2017 Scientific Program Committee invites the submission of late breaking abstracts! This allows authors with research that has been planned, but not conducted or finalised by the first round abstract submission deadline to be considered as an oral presentation or a hard copy poster.

Submissions are encouraged to explore the 2017 theme: 

“Cultivating Fresh Evidence”

Matthew Evans is a chef by trade who is also the host of Gourmet Farmer on SBS.
He is an advocate for sustainable seafood and is a strong believer in knowing and trusting what you eat.

14 December 2016 - Registration now open!

Registration is now open for the Dietitians Association of Australia’s (DAA) 34th National Conference! Tasmania will be the venue showcasing many firsts for DAA:

  • We are introducing two new, innovative presentation styles: Tabletop conversations and PechaKucha
  • We have two new initiatives to help make your trip to Hobart easy: ‘Tassie Buddies’ connects you with a local dietitian to help you plan your stay; and for the first time we have a ‘Parents, babies and toddlers room’ to encourage more parents to attend the Conference
  • We are also excited to announce ‘Tasting Tasmania’: Sharing all that the local region has to offer – click here to read more.

9 November 2016 - Abstract Submissions have Closed

The Scientific Program Committee would like to thank the contributions of authors who submitted an abstract for consideration into the program. For authors with research that has been planned, but not conducted or finalised by the first round abstract submission deadline will have an opportunity to submit a late breaking abstract from 11 January 2017.
